#hellorijeka: Explore cultures, meet and connect through music and cuisine

To celebrate the first season of Rijeka City Library's Selotejp programme, everyone is invited  for a big evening of drop-in workshops, free food and good music.

Here's what to expect:

DJ Mohamed Ibrahim, an artist from Sierra Leone who has made Croatia his new home, will provide the soundtrack for the evening. Blending traditional West African rhythms with contemporary sounds, his music celebrates cultural exchange and carries a simple message: explore new music and stay open to new experiences.

Beaded Jewellery & Eyeglass Chains

Create your own unique jewellery or stylish eyeglass chain using colourful beads and a variety of materials. This relaxed drop-in workshop invites participants of all ages to explore their creativity and take home a handmade keepsake.

Paint Your Own Canvas Pouch

Transform a simple canvas pouch into a one-of-a-kind accessory inspired by Rijeka's summer, the sea, and the city's urban character. Decorate it with textile paints and markers, then package your finished creation in a personalised gift box.

My Name in Arabic

Discover the beauty of Arabic calligraphy by learning how to write your name in Arabic script. You'll also learn interesting facts about the Arabic alphabet and leave with a personalised souvenir.

Around the World Without Leaving Benčić

Travel across the globe through flags, colours, and fun facts in this interactive workshop for all ages. Colour flags from different countries, test your knowledge, and discover fascinating cultures from around the world.

Soft Dictionary

Become part of a collaborative art installation by writing words, messages, or expressions in any language onto fabric strips. Together we'll weave, stitch, and display these contributions, creating a living "soft dictionary" that celebrates language, diversity, and community.
